Character Description: A sorta demon-possesed character from the Street Fighter universe, Akuma (also known as Gouki) is usually a boss character. He has similar moves and stats to Ryu and Ken, though he is still middle of the road. In the SF universe, "Shin Akuma" is Akuma at his full strength; regular Akuma voluntarily holds back his power in order to avoid wiping out everyone instantly. This "Shin Level 2" Akuma is from the flash animation MK vs. SF 3, by Proxicide (look for it on Newgrounds). He is powerful, but a work in process that might never be finished.
Stratagies: For the love of whatever diety you worship, learn how to use his super moves! Although his AI doesn't reflect this, Akuma's attacks are kinda hit-or-miss, and sorta slow. His super moves are quite powerful, especially his ultimate move, Shun Goku Satsu. It can easily knock an enemy's health down to zero in no time flat. Also learn how to use his teleportation ability, as it can be the difference between a win or a loss.
While Fighting: Play defensivly, and don't do anything stupid. Akuma can launch some nasty combos at you that can leave your character in dire straits. Although it might be tempting, don't try to kick him or whatever when he's jumping towards you; he can block the attack, land, and attack in the space of a few milliseconds. Just keep blocking, or dodge roll, or something.
Special Abilities: Teleportation
Glitches: Probably my most glitchy character uploaded so far. When playing in debug mode, expect to see the occasional warning text. This doesn't seem to have much effect on gameplay, so you could probably live with it. Also, sometimes if you attack him at the same time he activates one of his supers (a triple uppercut thing), he seems to try to block and teleport at the same time, thus canceling the super move (but at the same time not taking any damage from your attack).
AI: Tough. The AI is able to fight much more effectively than many players, and it can launch rapid-fire attacks that should hardly be possible. For example, Akuma grabs and throws you backwards. He then does an uppercut so quickly that he hits you while you are still flying from being thrown! 3/3.
Cheapness: Actually, Akuma is quite cheap, especially with a full power meter. One of his favorite combos is to trap you in a corner, use his triple uppercut attack, followed by a regular Shoryuken-like uppercut, then kicking you while you lie on the ground, knocking you up high enough for him to use a sort of mega-hadouken, which delivers around 8 hits, then uppercutting you again. While this doesn't happen often, similar moments like these can make you want to scream. 7/10
Extra Notes: Akuma has at least one special move that his AI never uses. Experiment a bit to find them.
Bottom Line: Your call.
