Well readers, I'm afraid that it will be a while until I can add more characters to download. I'm having all sorts of problems with WinRAR...the maximum size files I can create just get smaller and smaller. First I had no problems, than the limit was 5 MB, then 4MB...now it doesn't seem to work at all.
See, it seems that the zombies in my basement had a few more working brain cells than usual, and were able to escape. I joined my ninja army and was able to capture or destroy all but one, with minimal civilian casualties. We found the last one banging his head on my keyboard and getting zombie slime all over everything. By some amazing feat of luck, before we killed the zombie it had been able to open WinRAR and enter some fairly complex code that caused the program to gradually fail. We estimate that one would be more likely to win the lottery five times in a row than for a zombie to do what it did.
Thankfully, my MUGEN data was undamaged. However, if the techs can't reverse the code, I will have to redownload and install WinMUGEN, and that's always a pain. I estimate that there won't be any new posts until next Monday. See you then.

Downloading Characters in More than One File
Due to some crazy restrictions in my version of WinRAR, I can only create RAR files (the files you download) of sizes up to 5 MB. Since I have many, many characters that are far bigger than 5 MB, I've had to get a bit creative with some of these files. So here is the procedure for downloading multiple-file characters:
1: Click the first link underneath the character's name, then download and open the file as normal. You will have a folder containing some of the character's files, usually the .def file and as many others as I can cram in. Extract this to your MUGEN's char folder.
2: Click the next link, download, and open. Instead of a folder, you will just find files. These are the rest (or more of) the character's files that wouldn't fit in the first archive. Extract these files to the character folder that you extracted in step 1.
3: Repeat step 2 as many times as needed.
When all is said and done, your character should work. Enjoy! And we apologize for the inconvienience XD

FAQ
Another post I should have made earlier. Oh well.
Since I anticipate the need for an FAQ in the future, I might as well make one now. More questions may be added as needed.
Q: What is this website?
A: This is M.U.G.E.N. Archive, a place where you can find MUGEN characters and stages to download for your own copy of MUGEN. It is operated and updated by me, Sirus.
Q: Why is it in blog format?
A: Since I try to include a lot of information about each character I upload, giving each character it's own blog post makes more sense and is much easier than making an entire new webpage per character.
Q: Is this website free?
A: Yes! As long as I have no bandwidth problems, this site will never ask for money nor bombard you with advertising. If however, I start to exceed my free bandwidth and must pay for more, I will probably ask for donations. At no time will you be forced to pay for anything.
Q: What is MUGEN, and where can I find it?
A: MUGEN is primarily a game creation engine, though it is most commonly used for fighting games. MUGEN was developed by a company called Elecbyte, though Elecbyte has since ceased operations. Because of this, pretty much every copy of MUGEN out there is a pirated copy. As such, I will not directly link to a download for it. You can probably find it by using your favorite search engine. For more information, check out MUGEN's Wiki page.
Q: Did you make these characters/stages?
A: No, I did not. Whenever possible, I credit the original maker/coder/team that released the character or stage. It is possible I might create my own characters someday, but I need the proper tools first.
Q: Can I request a certain character/stage?
A: You can always ask, but I cannot guarantee that I'll find or post what you requested.
Q: What do I do if I find something about a character that you missed?
A: If I missed a certain glitch, or if you have different views on how good a character is, or if you have any other comments/concerns, just comment on that post. I check my blog once a day on average, so I'll get back to you.
Q: I have a question that isn't listed here!
A: If you have any other questions, either comment on this post or email me at captain9hawk@yahoo.com .

Megaman.EXE
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=96TNXVA1
Character Description: Megaman in his Battle Network series form. In the Battle Network series, Megaman is a computer program (hence the .EXE) that acts as both an avatar and an anti-virus program. The player would collect weapon chips from enemies and use them against viruses and hostile programs, along with his iconic Buster gun. Sadly, many of these abilities are lost on this character.
Stratagies: Since Megaman.EXE's attacks are fairly weak, you'll want to adopt a hit-and-run strategy. Thankfully, his forward dash is essentially a mid-range teleport technique so you can get behind the enemy and hit him a few times. A skilled player can dash back and forth, not giving the enemy time to react. If your enemy tries to stay back, punish him/her/it by using your Buster gun; it has great range, is easy to use, can be fired rapidly, and hits the target instantly. The only problem is the low damage potential. Megaman.EXE can also summon Gutsman and Bass to launch a quick attack, though they too deal low damage. If there is a plus side, you can move after you summon an ally to get in position for the next attack.
While Fighting: Don't be complacent just because Megaman.EXE doesn't do much damage. He's a quick little fighter and has no problems with launching sneak attacks. Always beware of his Buster gun; while he usually doesn't spam it too badly, it is very hard to predict when he'll shoot, and you have little warning before the attack hits.
Special Abilities: Teleportation
Glitches: None.
AI: Surprisingly robust. He's pretty good at throwing combos your way, and many of his attacks knock you into the air so he can hit you again. Level 1 or 2 out of 3, depending on your own skill level.
Cheapness: Hardly any, though he is sometimes fond of his Buster gun. 3/10.

Extra Notes: Megaman.EXE doesn't have extra pallets. For an extra-hectic battle, have 4 MM.EXE's on the screen at the same time. It might be a bit hard to tell them apart after that.
Bottom Line: Get it.

Frieza
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VTNXF1VL
Character Description: One of the most powerful villians from the Dragon Ball Z universe, Frieza first gained infamy by slaughtering the people of the planet Namek. In MUGEN however, Frieza is merely average. His special attacks do a decent amount of damage, but he doesn't live up to his fearsome reputation.
Stratagies: Playing as Frieza is much better than fighting him. He is actually fairly fast and powerful. Use your teleportation to get behind an enemy attack, and utilize his dashes to run circles around the enemy. If backed into a corner by an aggressive enemy, use his counter: duck, block, and press the teleport button. If timed correctly, Frieza will teleport behind the enemy and blow him up. It costs some power to use though.
While Fighting: Keep hitting him. Frieza, like many of Choujin's characters, spends much of his time power-charging - even if he's trapped in a corner! However, always be careful of a surprise attack, especially after he's fully charged.
Special Abilities: Teleport, Air Dash, Power Charge, Counter
Glitches: None, as far as I can tell.
AI: Not the best in the world, but he gets much smarter when fully charged and can use a variety of nasty super moves against you. He's also fairly good at getting behind you and hitting you. Level 2 out of 3.
Cheapness: Very little/none. In fact, you might feel like a cheap shot for hitting him while he charges! 1/10.

Extra Notes: Frieza, like many DBZ characters, speaks Japanese, and his readme file is almost totally...unreadable. So spend some time in practice mode to learn his moves.
Bottom Line: Get it, especially if you're a DBZ fan. Choujin's DBZ characters are some of the best I've seen.

Glossary of Terms
Yes, I should have made this post sooner. Shut up >.>
Basically, this post will define some of the terms commonly used in this blog, for those unfamiliar with the terms. I will probably find myself updating this section every so often, and whenever someone asks what a certain term means. Here we go...
AI: The set of instructions that a character controlled by the computer follows. AI can vary greatly between characters, even between different versions of the same character.
Air Recovery: The ability to right yourself in midair and land on your feet. Many characters can do this to one degree or another.
Attack: An offensive move performed by a character that can deal damage to an enemy if it connects.
Beam: A ranged, continuous attack that can deal multiple hits in a short amount of time. Examples include SF3 Ryu's Shinkuu-Hadouken or Piccolo's Super Beam Cannon.
Block: Often done by holding the movement key away from an enemy, blocking can reduce the damage taken by an attack, as well as preventing a character from staggering. Some attacks are unblockable, and must be dodged.
Cheapness: A "cheap" character has the ability to constantly launch hard to dodge/highly damaging moves (see "spam"), or recover large amounts of health, or any other ability that can make a battle badly one-sided. Smart AI does not fall under this category.
Combo: Hitting an enemy several times within a short time span will trigger a combo. There are two main types of combos. Manual combos are when a player strings together regular attacks, and thus may be different each time. Automatic combos are usually triggered by a specific button sequence and are the same each time. Some automatic combos require power to use. For ease of use, I will just use the term "combo" in this blog.
Counter: Similar to a parry, a counter stops the character from taking any damage, but then immidiately launches a counterattack. The enemy is usually stunned for a short time so the counterattack can connect.
Dash: While the term brings running or a quick hop to mind, "dash" is the generic term for double-tapping either the forward or backward movement buttons. These dashes can be just about anything, from a quick flight to teleportation. Some characters also have "air dashes", which is just a dash in mid-air.
Dodge Roll: An ability that allows a character to somersault/otherwise dodge an oncoming attack. The character is usually invulnerable while rolling.
Glitch: Any error with a character, stage, or MUGEN engine that can cause problems. Ranges from visual glitches (wrong colors, missing sprites, etc) to MUGEN-crashing errors. Some glitches can be resolved with some quick editing of a .def file. Others require special tools/knowledge to fix.
Hadouken: Generic term for a simple ranged attack. Often used to describe fireball-like ranged attacks, though just about any ranged attack excluding beams can apply. Refers to Street Fighter's Ryu, who could shoot Hadouken fireballs from his hands.
Health: The "life" of a character. Health shows how much damage a character can take before he/she/it is defeated. Standard health is 1000, though some characters may have more or less.
Parry: The ability to completely block an attack, taking no damage in the process. When used in close combat, parrying can leave an opponent open to attack.
Power: Also known as "special", it is a meter that builds up during fighting and, when it reaches certain levels, can be used to launch powerful attacks/abilities. The amount of power used depends on the strength of the special attack.
Power Charge: The ability of certain characters to quickly build up power. Usually while charging, a character is immobile and vulnerable to attack.
Quick Recovery: The ability to get back on your feet almost instantly after getting knocked down.
Recovery Roll: The ability to roll to one side or the other after being knocked to the ground. This can allow an injured character to get away from an enemy.
Spam: Continuous usage of a certain attack. Any attack (except moves that require power) can be spammed. Spamming is looked down on in some circles, though some see it as a viable way to beat superior opponents.
Stagger: Also known as flinching, it is when a character takes damage and is temporarily helpless. A staggering character is unable to block, attack, or move, leaving him/her/it vulnerable to continued attacks. Some characters (especially very large ones) do not stagger.
Summon: The ability to bring in another character (usually from the same series) to help you.
Teleportation: The ability to cross large distances of the stage without taking damage from attacks. Some characters vanish and reappear elsewhere, while others physically move across the stage (often exhibiting a "sliding" movement). Street Fighter's Akuma character can teleport in this fashion.

Kung Fu Man (Capcom Version)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IWTP7LC6
Character Description: A modified version of KFM. This one uses all six attack buttons, and has probably quadruple the number of super moves that regular KFM has; most of them taken from Street Fighter characters (see his "Kung Fu Fireball" above"). He also has new intro/win poses and even some "bullet time" moves.
Stratagies: Basically the same as KFM, except you have more super moves to damage your opponants with. You also don't need to get up close and personal if you're taking too much damage - you can now back away and shoot fireballs.
While Fighting: Keeping your distance isn't enough anymore. While this version of KFM doesn't spam his fireballs, he can launch them at you when you are vulnerable, thus damaging you and leaving you open to a counterattack. Try to maintain an offensive and don't give him a chance to use his new damaging super moves.
Special Abilities: Charge, dodge-roll, parry
Glitches: None. Since the basic coding matches that of KFM, this character is astonishingly glitch-free.
AI: Better than KFM's, but still not much of a challenge. Level 1 out of 3.
Cheapness: Again, basically the same as KFM's. 2/10.

Extra Notes: Capcom KFM is a great way to learn how to make a character with advanced moves. He can also be quite fu to play as.
Bottom Line: Get it. If KFM was too basic for you, this guy will be much more exciting.

Kung Fu Man
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=V7IOXF3A
Character Description: Kung Fu Man, or "KFM" is the original MUGEN fighter. An original character created by the makers of MUGEN, KFM is a fairly basic character model. He is dressed in what looks more like a karate outfit, but oh well. He only uses four of the six attack buttons and has only two real super attacks, but his power lies in his ability to chain attacks together, and even throw his supers into his combos.
Stratagies: Learn how to utilize his combos! In the right hands, KFM can take on some of the more powerful fighters to be found (though he falls far short of being able to take on "bosses" without a seriously skilled player).
While fighting: Try to keep your distance. KFM's attacks may be a bit weak, but if you let your guard down you can find yourself with a few hundred less health. His combos are more damaging than you'd expect.
Special Abilities: None, unless you count double-jump as an ability. KFM is a very basic character.
Glitches: None. Elecbyte made sure KFM was perfect. Unless your MUGEN engine itself is messed up, you will never see a warning for him in debug mode.
AI: Surprisingly capable of bouncing back from near losses, though not much good against even moderately skilled players. Other AI or total MUGEN newbs are the only ones who might have a problem. Skill level 1.
Cheapness: Very little. Sometimes his combos can frustrate a newbie, but he is a very fair
character. 2/10
Extra Notes: KFM's code and sprites are used as the basis for just about every character out there. If you have any desire to make characters of your own, grab KFM just for that reason.
Bottom Line: Get it. A must-have for any self-respecting MUGEN player.
How to Download Files
Ok, for all those who are new at downloading MUGEN files, here's a quick rundown on what to do.
1: First, you will need WinRAR or some other unzipping program. Search the Internet to find it. You can get a free version. Download and install it before moving on.
2: Click the link, which will take you to Megaupload. Near the top of the screen, enter the 3-letter character prompt into the designated text box. You will then have to wait about 45 seconds to use the free download.
3: When you click the download button, choose "Open". The file will download and open in WinRAR. Select the folder in the archive and extract it to your character folder for MUGEN.
4: All done!

How the Reviews Work
These reviews can get fairly in depth, but then again, it's better than flying blind isn't it?
First, a picture of the character (often just standing) will go here.
Character Description: Appearence, types of moves, some backstory and game series (if availible).
Stratagies: Some things to consider while playing as this character.
While fighting: Some things to keep in mind while fighting this character.
Special Abilities: Teleportation, power charge, parry, etc.
Glitches: Anything from miscolored sprites to game-crashing errors.
AI: Some description of the character's AI, and a rating from 1 to 3 (for use in Arcade mode).
Cheapness: How cheap the character is, on a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being cheapest).
Extra Notes: Any final words about a character that don't really fall into the above categories.
Bottom Line: Get It, Skip It, or Your Call.
Other pictures may be scattered about the review. These pictures may be of anything, but are most often cool moves or humorous moments.
A final note about my review system: I am just one person, so my reviews are kinda limited by my own skill levels and biases. If any of you have anything else to add about the character in question, feel free to mention it in the comments.
I believe that's it. Stay tuned! The first downloads will start being put up either tomorrow or the day after :D

My favorite character
Many of Lauren's attacks are capable of causing major damage to just about any fighter (provided that you are using standard health), if not defeating them outright. For instance, this attack that I call "Demon Rush":
A mighty kick sends his opponant high into the air.
When he comes back down, Lauren continues his assault.
They fly high into the air...
BOOM!!!
Look at all the damage that attack did!
If Lauren has a weak point, it's that many of his attacks do next to no damage if blocked. However, a skilled Lauren user will be able to break through an enemy's defense and unleash some of Lauren's power.
At this time, I will not be sharing Lauren. I plan to save him for a special occassion...maybe on the first birthday of this site? ;)

MUGEN Archive is up and running!
Hey any and all readers! I know you're hoping for some characters ASAP, but I have some things to take care of first (such as choosing a host for the downloads, making screenshots, and all that jazz). Hopefully, I'll be able to post my first character within a week. If not...well, it's not like I have any fans to disappoint yet, now do I? :)
I'm still trying to get figure out how to work this blog thing. I also need to figure out how to create workable ZIP or RAR files. Any help in those areas would be much appreciated.
Seeing as how I have school in the morning, I'm gonna wrap this up. G'night!
